THE OTHER SIDE OF TOMORROW
Things are nearly back to normal- the MTA finally called off the strike and the buses are nearly back to full working capacity - and they broke the record at 35 days over the previous one that lasted 32 days.
Not a lot of time - have to go home and tape 24, but Monday will be a full length blog going over the events of the past month including the horror stories that went on behind the scenes at the time wasting comic book convention that happened in Vegas -
By the way, I will attempt to set up a table at this Sunday's Los Angeles Science Fiction and Comic Book Convention that usually occurs month after month at the Shrine Auditorium- I may bring some of the crew with me and maybe a porn star or model or two - fingers crossed.
I wanted to talk about Matrix: Revolutions a bit - but I think I need to see it again at my favorite movie theater in the world that is located in Westwood.
Thursday morning I'll be going to the lot to meet some co-workers at breakfast - but I'm heading for the Constantine lot first and see if I can catch some footage being filmed. I heard from someone that they've been doing the bulk of the filming in the wee morning hours. Last time I was walking around the lot, I was with a date for the Matrix movie and I did happen to see some green screens being set up. They usually use them when they're placing actors against a CGI scenery or special effects. Damn, I wish I had a script or call sheets to keep score of this project.
Making plans to attend APE on the weekend of February 22-24 and the new Deposit Man book has been sent to FM International for consideration to be included in their monthly catalog. Their submissions editor, Wayne Markley is a swell guy, so I don't foresee any problems with him turning the product down. Diamond is usually my big concern- because they run the distribution of the comic book industry like a bunch of gestapos and they've already turned down my previous two efforts even though they carried my first Deposit Man book- and these two were of superior quality too.
MAS has yet to pick up his comp copies of the book - I wonder why he hasn't been returning my phone calls or e-mail messages. I had to leave a message with his mom.
I also would like to take the time to talk about behind the scenes stuff, like what inspired my ideas about things in this latest opus - but due to the bad turnout at Las Vegas, I'm going to wait until after this weekend at the Shrine (if I am going) to see if business picks up.
