The Purple Pinup Guru Platform

When purple things are pulsating on your mind, I'm the one whose clock you want to clean. Aiding is Sparky, the Astral Plane Zen Pup Dog from his mountain stronghold on the Northernmost Island of the Happy Ninja Island chain, this blog will also act as a journal to my wacky antics at an entertainment company and the progress of my self published comic book, The Deposit Man which only appears when I damn well feel like it. Real Soon Now.

Sparky: SDCC Spastic Colon Sunday

It's recovery time. There were stupid drivers on the way down and more on the way home. Claypool's one man PR team David Seidman is always a master planner and the show went well. Then again when we have Elvira working the show - it's always a good show.

Soulsearchers and Company (by Peter David, Jim Mooney and Amanda Conner)

Good things about Claypool at SDCC this year
  1. Peter David - always a charm and pleasure who has the best in rabid fans
  2. Steve Leialoha - an all around great person
  3. Amanda Conner - her fans are a hoot too!
  4. Richardo Villagran - a lovely gent
  5. Eduardo Barreto - managed to save some Archie™ hero stuff from before the fire/flood at Archie Comics for the owner of Thunder Agents John Carbonaro.
Outside of the booth there were people having fun:

JUDGEMENT DAY AT SDCC
(though they had their Electric Playground props still)

Victor Lucas and Tommy Tallarico were out about at the con - Tommy seems more interested in grub than the fans but Vic interviewed the "Men of Action" in the 2100 row (were Sparky sat) and came off smart and cool. Happens. But damn they're short men. The Men of Action - are all true manly men and smart. Duncan Rouleau is a true gent. Their website (the above link gives us this) :

All four of the creative powerhouses comprising Man of Action Studios will be on hand to sign, shmooze, and sell their wares at this year's pop-culture mega-event, the San Diego Comic-Con. If you are lucky enough to be making your way down, stop by the booth, #2104 and introduce yourself to Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau, and Steven T. Seagle. Check out previews of our upcoming comics, cartoons, and film projects and lay out some green for the FIRST official MOA Comics, Ballast and Solstice published by our good friends over at Active Images!

Joe Kelly gave me a copy of Ballast - It was good and compelling. Buy yours from Active today.

More swag:

Found a copy of Comic Geek Speak Episodes 1-30. No clue what it is ...

Stuff I bought:

AIT?PlanetLar's Hench by Adam Beecher and Manny Bello as well as Larry Young's Proof of Concept- as Zombie Dinosaurs is the “better” way to sell your ideas ...

Omaha Press's Holmes flipbook - it could have been a nastier concept than it was (Hunter S. crossed with Holmes) ... Sparky is the Holmes completist after all - he's seen nastier ...

Bought a collected TPB of The Moth by Steve Rude - you should too - follow the link ...

Had no idea the font and design house Blambot did a webcomic called Atland - there's book one and two available from PV comics. Bought some fonts from them as well.
