The Purple Pinup Guru Platform

When purple things are pulsating on your mind, I'm the one whose clock you want to clean. Aiding is Sparky, the Astral Plane Zen Pup Dog from his mountain stronghold on the Northernmost Island of the Happy Ninja Island chain, this blog will also act as a journal to my wacky antics at an entertainment company and the progress of my self published comic book, The Deposit Man which only appears when I damn well feel like it. THE PP GURU GRINDS ONE OUT!!

The PP Guru finally had time on his priority one schedule other than to pound with his peyote puddin' pud to check in the latest Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tartarino collaboration to old homage to 70's B movie classics called Grindhouse over at the old theater that was once owned by the Mann's theater multiplex. It's now been sold to some independent theater owner and renamed the Culver Plaza theaters. The PP Guru couldn't beat the price of admission - only $ 3.00 smackeroos - for a double bill of pulsatin' high kicking nostalgic thrills ( what is up with the casaulties of Mann's Theaters of late? Another historic landmark hold over from the late sixties and seventies- the old Mann National - closed down its doors a few weeks ago. The PP Guru swears he's going to have to spearhead a campaign to perserve our crazy Hollywood theater icongraphy - they're fucking dropping like flies!! The PP Guru is lamenting it's passing - he has seen practically every Star Trek and Spider-Man movie over there!! - and fuck it used to have a bitchin' THX and Dolby Digital sound in there!!).

First up you have the ever lovely dimple chinned Rose McGowen ( a worthy entry to the Strange Stirrings below the PP Guru's belt series within a series ) in the title role of Rodriguez's Planet Terror who wields a mean AK-47 as a substitute for a leg stump leading the charge in whumping fucking zombies all over the place and then you have the chick kick ass flick supreme with Rosario Dawson leading the pack of those who are destined to totally severly kick Kurt Russell's keister in the second half directed by Quentin Tartarino entitled Death Proof. Although both features pack a quite a thimble through the balls to the wall excitement - nothing excels throughout the film like the mock up trailers during the intermission as directed by Rob Zombie and Eli Roth ( the PP Guru - tunics down - the most absolute grostesque thing he has ever seen captured on celluloid is the fake movie trailer for "Thanksgiving" that Roth contributed.) and the old pastiche to how a movie might be experienced in some broken down movie theater in the seventies like the one on Hollywood & Vine with kaleidoscopic suggestive ads to run to the concession stand for popcorn and tag cards that tell the audience about missing movie reels with apologies from the managment. Highly PP Guru Recommmended. Better catch it quick before it's lost in the melee of the summer camp movies commencing this weekend with Spidey-Man 3.

The PP Guru has a glorious time capsule he would like to sell you...along with the whithered remains of your grandma as brokered through the....
